00   About

The person you work with.

I am Conner Crowe. Fractional marketing lead. I run The Operator Engagement for a small handful of founders at a time. Same person on the call as on the keyboard.

This page exists because if you are thinking about hiring me, you should know who is actually going to be on your account. Not a logo. Not a team. Me.

01   How I got here

I did not come up
through the agency ladder.

I started in design. The job was to make things people wanted to look at. The lesson was figuring out why some things stop you and other things do not. That is the lesson the rest of this career runs on.

From there I moved into performance marketing. Over the last decade and $15M+ in managed ad spend across Google, Meta, Shopping, Performance Max, and the conversion tracking underneath all of it. Lead-gen, ecom, B2B, local service. The vertical changes. The diagnosis pattern does not.

I worked inside agencies long enough to see exactly where the model breaks. The senior who sells the engagement is rarely the person doing the work. The work gets handed to a junior who is learning on your account. The reports get written by someone three days behind. Nobody is wrong on purpose. The structure is just bad for the client.

I went independent in late 2024. Now I work directly with founders. One senior. Direct line. Written summary every Monday. The agency offering, without the agency.

02   The full stack

I work the whole stack.

Most marketing problems are design problems and tracking problems and copy problems wearing a marketing hat.

I went to college for graphic design. I worked as a web designer. I worked as a graphic designer. I worked in marketing. Then I stacked all of it into one seat.

  1. 01

    Graphic design

College training plus working as a designer. Brand systems, typography, color, layout, art direction. Where the eye for craft starts and where bad creative gets caught before it ships to a feed.

  2. 02

    Web design + build

Front-end work and conversion-focused landing pages. The reason I can ship a tracking fix, a hero image, or a CRO test in the same session rather than waiting on a dev shop.

  3. 03

    In-house marketer

Years inside marketing teams as the person actually shipping the work. Built the instinct for what creative converts versus what just looks nice in a deck.

  4. 04

    Fractional marketing lead

The seat I sit in now. Strategy plus paid plus tracking plus creative oversight, because I have already done each piece, not just the last one. The full stack of skills in one operator instead of four hires.

03   The workflow

One operator.
A modern toolkit.

The work an agency splits across four juniors and a project manager, I run as one program. That is only possible because the volume work runs through a workflow I built and tune myself. Catalog scraping. Image rendering. Ad-variant drafting. Audit assembly. The mechanical layer.

Every program opens with a written brand constitution: voice, palette, factual claims, what not to say. The workflow runs against that constitution. I review every output before it ships. Every claim before it goes in a deck. Every render before it touches your catalog. The audit trail records exactly what produced what.

The point is the judgment time it buys back. Positioning calls. What to kill. The strategy you are paying me for. The craft-heavy work stays mine. I document the whole connected web of it in The Operator Lab.

04   How I work

Five rules.
I do not break them.

  • 01

    Tracking first.

I will not run ads against broken data. The tracking gets fixed before anything else moves.

  • 02

    One senior on every call.

Same person on strategy. Same person on execution. No handoff between the call and the keyboard.

  • 03

    Founder direct.

No account manager filtering the conversation. You talk to me. Decisions get made in the call, not in a deck a week later.

  • 04

    Written Monday summary.

Every week. Numbers, decisions, what changed, what is next. So nothing lives only in a meeting that already happened.

  • 05

    You own the work.

I work inside your accounts, not over your shoulder. When the engagement ends, you keep everything I built.

05   Tooling

What I
work inside.

Platforms and tools I am hands-on in every week. Not a wishlist. The day-to-day.

New stack on your side? I have probably already wired it up for another founder. If not, I will learn it on my time, not yours.

★★★★★
“Conner is incredible at what he does. He knows what he is doing at a high level but is also able to break everything down and explain it to someone like me who wants to know every little detail.”

Ready to talk

Same person on the call as on the work.

Thirty minutes on the phone. You bring the account and the goals. I walk in with a tracking audit and a sharp read on where the leak is.
